GCIB Delegation at UNGA with ARDN

GCIB's three member delegation led by Chairman Dr. Idrissa Doucoure participated at the Africa Open for Businessorganised under the auspices of the ARDN (African Renaissance & Diaspora Network INC, New York) along the UNGA.The annual event held alongside the UNGA focussed on discussing climate change and its effects on Women andsolutions to combat the exposure and risks to women. Dr Idrissa delivered a keynote address recalling the contributions ofDr Djibril Diallo, Hon President of ARDN as the legendary Special Advisor to the Director of UNICEF, Dr. Diallo wasinstrumental in transforming the global healthcare sector, ultimately saving more than 25 million children's lives throughhis dedication and hard work.
Elaborating on the subject of the event, he said that that women's rights are human rights, a truth echoing across the sandsof the Sahara to the coastlines of the Indian and Atlantic oceans. But in the era of the climate change, this truth has foundan even deeper resonance. The fates of women and our climate are interwoven, a tapestry of shared destiny. Dr Idrissafurther quoted "focus our collective might on popularising and realising the SDGs, especially goals 5, 9, 13, and 17.Why? Because gender equality is not just a women’s issue" with a call for action and supporting the Red card campaignof ARDN to prevent violence against women and children. GCIB's commitments to the common goals were discussed indetail and shared with the esteemed delegates present.
