GCIB collaboration with Laboratories Larrasa Spain for Integrated Poultry project in Senegal

On the 30th of October 2023, a GCIB delegation met with the management of Laboratorios Larrasa, a leading Spanish biotechnology specialist to sign agreements on joint development of an integrated Bio-technology Poultry Industrial Park in Gandor Senegal. The project featuring as a key element of the full spectrum development, cutting edge fertilised eggs production would support a volume of 500000 chicken per day once operational. The expansive project is to be spread across 1000 Hectares of land already acquired in Gandor, Senegal along with 500 Hectares of maize farming to supplement the feed requirements of the poultry farm. This novel project aims not only to bridge the market demand in West Africa but also create 500 employments, be the first such zero emission farm in the continent and probably worldwide in addition to featuring the latest in artificial intelligence and IOT. The farm once set up aims to strengthen the local poultry farmers of the region by imparting education, training, technology and support for augmenting their present business structures.
